Project Overview

The Donaghmore Workhouse Museum Digital Development Project is funded through the EU Just Transition Fund (JTF). The project involves the creation of a new, modern website for Donaghmore Workhouse Museum, providing visitors with comprehensive information about the site and enabling online ticket booking.

This digital investment supports improved public access to heritage, enhances the visitor experience, and strengthens the museum’s capacity to engage with local, national, and international audiences.


Project Aims

The project aims to:

  • Develop a new, user-friendly website for Donaghmore Workhouse Museum

  • Provide clear, accurate, and engaging information about the museum, its history, and exhibitions

  • Introduce an online ticket booking system to improve visitor access and operational efficiency

  • Improve digital accessibility and usability across desktop and mobile devices

  • Support the sustainable development of heritage tourism in the region

This website and our digital transformation have been developed through Fáilte Ireland’s Digital Transformation Programme, which is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.

From April 2025 to August 2026, this programme is enabling us to enhance our online presence, boost our website’s digital accessibility, and improve our digital marketing strategies to attract more visitors to the region, while showcasing the wide variety of experiences and accommodation available to book online.

The Digital Transformation Programme for the territory overall is worth up to €4.8m, with 50% of the funding provided by the European Union.
