Bringing Ireland’s History to Life for Students

At Donaghmore Workhouse Museum, we welcome school groups of all ages to explore one of Ireland’s most meaningful heritage sites.
Through real stories, original artefacts, and carefully preserved buildings, students can discover what life was like in the 19th century and understand the social impact of the Great Famine and the Irish Poor Law system.

Our educational visits are designed to make history tangible — encouraging empathy, curiosity, and reflection.
